In 1925,he joined the Catholic newspaper 'Le XX Siecle' for which he created the boy-reporter-cum-detective, Tintin.The character first appeared in the children's supplement,'Le Petit Vingtieme',in 1929,in a story entitled 'Tintin ay Pays de Soviets'.This was published in book form in 1930.The first of the books to appear in English were 'The Crab with the Golden Claws' and 'King Ottokar's Sceptre',which were published simultaneously in 1958.
